Pushing Dewy Skin to the Extreme

Im intrigued to see how dewy skin had been pushed in editorial work. Ive seen an image online on a thick layer of clear gel all over the face. This really breaks the boundaries of how far a healthy glow can go.

A fresh faced complexion will consist of a tiny bit of cream or liquid highlight on the high points of the face and a powdered T-Zone. However when dewy skin is seen on the runways of fashion week it is done in a much more noticeable way. They cover the skin in a sheer, minimal layer of foundation (Such as MAC Face and Body), conceal any imperfections whilst still allowing the natural texture of the skin to shine through and then add a highlighter or illuminator to the high points of the face and down the middle of the face.

For editorial shoots the skin can also be pushed to the extreme, such as the one that inspired this post above. Gucci Westman makes a gorgeous example of this in his shoot for Stylist Magazine.

The skin has a highshine effect that catches the light in a beautiful way. Showcasing nothing else but the skin and the brows gives such a youthful and striking take on what is just a healthy complexion.
