Two Sides of Dior Advertising

Just like in all aspects of the brand from the fashion, the makeup and even to the advertising, there are two sides of Dior. The elegant, chic everyday and the slightly Avant Garde, Haut Couture.
When looking at the Jardin De Printemps collection alone this is clear to see. The main image for this collection is the beautiful model in a slightly over the top look which incorporates all the colours from the palette and a pink lip. However, other images from the same campaign feature the same model in a more played down version of the makeup only using one simple shadow and a pale gloss, that everyday women would strive to recreate.

The two sides is also clear in the fashion of Dior as they showcase their "ready to wear" collection and their Haut Couture collection. As this is something that is very much a part of Diors brand identity it is something I'd like to represent through my work too.
A way in which I'm thinking of achieving this is by having my daytime advert showing a beautiful highlighted, pastel spring look which is achievable for the everyday woman. Then having my evening advert showing something that is beautiful but a little out there. As I'm thinking of using a red lip on this one I may also go for a bright shadow. As long as the colour harmonises with the red lip it should work well whilst still being slightly avant garde.
