Test Shoot and Impracticality of Wet Skin on Catwalk
I did a test shoot on myself where I tried pushing dewy skin to the extreme. I first started with MAC mixing medium all over the skin, however this was so impractical because it dripped down into my eyes which made them sting and run. It also began to dry which meant that it didn't show up well on camera.
I then decided to try using water, I spritzed myself all over with a water bottle and also this did give a wet, glossy feel, it didnt really connote dewiness but more "I've been on the crosstrainer for 4 hours" sweatiness. Not the desired feel.
I also had to think about the impracticality of dripping wet skin on a catwalk. Weve all seen the videos of models falling on the runway and struggling to get back up. Imagine if there were drips of water or gel all over that already slippy stage.
After consideration and trying it out in two ways I decided that although Dior do a lot of avant garde things on their catwalks, this would be too impractical and probably wasnt the best idea. I think I will stick with a very dewy base and stay away from the water spray.
