Technical File; Finger Waves



wet set finger wave 1:

  • wet all the hair thouroughly 
  • use your comb to brush through the wet hair and flatten it to the head
  • push the hair towards the face and then immediately sweep it backwards
  • clip in the backwards sweep to hold in place
  • repeat this process clipping underneath each sweep

  • let the hair dry and set in place then remove the sectioning clips for a more finalised look.






wet set finger wave 2:
  • wet all of the hair 
  • comb through thoroughly making sure there are no knots and the hair is smooth to the head.
  • comb the hair back and place your fingers on this to keep it in place
  • comb forward the hair and push up slightly.
  • pinch this area 
  • repeat this over the entire head until its all fixed in place with sectioning clips.
  • Let the hair dry





Set finger wave;

  • curl the hair in a vertical line, curling towards the ear.
  • Pin each curl in place as you go 
  • Make sure all your sections are even
  • Once all your curls have set and cooled un pin them all
  • Take a good brush and from the roots downwards brush out all the curls
  • Take your pintail or sectioning comb again and brush out the ends, manipulate the hair with the comb until you can see the desired wave effect framing the face and carrying throughout the hair.
